S.O.S. Violence conjugale est un service anonyme, confidentiel et gratuit.

L’organisme offre un service continu. Une équipe d’intervenantes basée à Montréal reçoit les appels de détresse des femmes victimes de violence conjugale. La confidentialité de chacun des appels est entièrement assurée.

Chaque personne est accueillie chaleureusement. L’intervenante s’assure d’abord de la sécurité de la victime, elle évalue judicieusement sa situation, la rassure et l’oriente vers une ressource adéquate que ce soit pour une consultation, de l’information ou de l’hébergement.

En l’espace de quelques minutes la victimes peut entrer en communication avec une maison d’hébergement où elle sera en sécurité avec ses enfants et recevra le support dont elle a besoin.

Fonctionnement de la ligne d’urgence

L’équipe de S.O.S. violence conjugale est composée de quinze intervenantes et d’une directrice générale. Toutes les intervenantes possèdent une solide expertise en traitement de cas de violence conjugale.

• L’intervenante de S.O.S. accueille chaleureusement la victime et évalue sa situation. Elle vérifie prioritairement si elle est en danger imminent. Si elle est en danger, l’intervenante contacte la police.
• Après avoir vérifié la présence de la violence conjugale, l’intervenante dirige la victime vers la ressource qui peut le mieux lui venir en aide. Dans la grande majorité des cas la maison d’hébergement est la ressource adéquate.
• Si la femme a de la difficulté à eprimer sa demande, l’intervenante lui pose des questions pour l’encourager à parler et à évaluer la situation.
• L’intervenante l’écoute sans la juger et sans mettre en doute la véracité de ses propos.
• En l’espace de quelques minutes la victime a accès À un lieu sécuritaire pour elle est ses enfant
• Si la femme a besoin de parler de sa situation ou si elle a besoin de support ou d’information, l’intervenante lui proposera une ressource qui répondra à ses besoins
